Roof dryer vent cleaning
Vents that exit through the roof clog faster than wall vents and are harder to reach. Send a photo and we will quote it before we come.
Why roof vents clog
A roof-terminated dryer vent has to push hot, damp air straight up, often through a long run from a second-floor or interior laundry room. Lint drops back down, collects at the elbows, and often packs into the roof cap, where screens or tight louvers catch it. Condos and townhouses on the Seacoast often vent this way.
How we clean them
- Photo first. Text us a photo of the roof cap and tell us the roof height and pitch.
- From inside when we can. Many roof vents can be brushed from the dryer end up to the cap, with a HEPA vacuum catching what comes down.
- From the roof when it is safe. Low, walkable roofs can be done from outside. Steep or high roofs may need a separate visit with the right equipment, and we will tell you up front.
- Airflow before and after, measured at the dryer end or the cap.
Price
Roof vents are quoted from a photo because roofs vary so much. Long and second-floor runs start at $229. If the roof cap has a screen, we recommend replacing it with a proper dryer cap, since screens trap lint.
